CHS Youth Education Programs
Our Paws Club meets weekly at Cache Humane Society throughout the school year. Participants learn how to responsibly interact with animals, are introduced to opportunities and careers in animal welfare, and make fun arts and crafts.
Our Paws Club participants also help find loving homes for animals by assisting with training, socialization, and volunteer tasks around the shelter.
Age: 7 to 12 years old at start of semester
Cost : $40 per semester, includes Club T-Shirt
Schedule: 4:30-5:30pm every Monday (except holidays) during the academic semester.
Group size is limited to 10 participants, so early registration is recommended.
Spring semester starts in January. Registration will open December 1, 2018. Spring 2019 Paws After-school Club is full, email firstname.lastname@example.org to get on mailing list for Fall 2019.
'Junior Volunteers' is a supervised volunteer group for teens ages 13 to 15. For the first 45 minutes we do chores and various tasks around the shelter. For the remaining 45 minutes the Junior Volunteers interact with the shelter animals.
Age: 13 to 15 years old at start of the semester
Cost: $20 per semester, includes Volunteer T-Shirt
Schedule: 4:00 to 5:30pm every Wednesday (except holidays) during the academic semester.
Group size is limited to 15 participants.
Brief interviews are required for interested participants.
2019 Spring semester starts in January. Registration will open December 1, 2018.

Paws & Read is a free activity for youth ages 7-15 yrs, and parents are welcome!
Reading to dogs takes place in the main building in the Dog Spot and will begin at 3:00 pm and end at 3:40 pm. Reading to cats will take place in the Kitty Cabana and begin at 3:50 and end at 4:30 pm.
Space is limited to 5 youth for dogs and 5 youth for cats. If your child is interested you will need to reserve their spot a head of time for either dogs, cats or both. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the shelter 435-792-3920.
Youth will need to bring their own books and plan on reading for 20 minutes (dress warm if reading to dogs).
Every youth participant will need a parent to sign a youth waiver (waivers will be available to sign at the shelter).
