Animal Control Jurisdictions & Impound Locations
If you have lost your pet in Cache County the first step is to contact Dispatch at 435-753-7555. If you have found a stray pet, Dispatch will have a record of pets reported missing and may be able to connect you directly to the owner. If no owner can be found, they will bring the pet to the appropriate impound location.
Impound facilities work to reunite pets with their families. All lost animals are held for 5 days to give their families time to find them. After a minimum of 5 days, unclaimed stray animals may become available for adoption.
Some Animal Control departments contract with Cache Humane Society to house stray animals. These pets will be brought to CHS by an Animal Control Officer, please do not transport them independently. Remember Cache Humane Society is not the only Animal Control impound location in the valley. Animals not impounded with us will not be listed on our pages.
Animals impounded by Animal Control at Cache Humane Society within the last 5 business days are listed on our Impounded Animals Page. Please check back regularly, the page is updated hourly. Animals not reclaimed after 5 days may be placed for adoption.
